Just how much is your privacy worth? Would you sell it for $8 per month?
A new startup company called Datacoup is breaking the headlines for introducing its brand new business model.
Datacoup is an information broker who analyses your personal data and sell the insights, trends to the marketers they deal with.
Do you agree? Every bit of information we share on the cyberspace get
stored remotely somewhere in someone’s database. Mobile apps we use in
our smart phones today has just taken the information spying activity to
a new level. In one way or the other, we are all generating 100%
traceable content.
As you probably aware, Facebook tracks your liking pattern and sell
your personal information to the potential marketers. The Acxiom
Corporation is has also been tracking your personal information since
1969.
The thing that makes Datacoup to outstand from the rest is, unlike
all other data brokers who steal your information without your
knowledge, Datacoup wants to give you a deal by offering a cold, hard
cash.
“If a consumer wants to make an educated decision, they should be able to sell their data to who they want,” explained Datacoup CEO Matt Hogan.
What Kind Of Personal Information Will Be Tracked?
Those who sign up with the Datacoup will be asked to grant access
over their social media accounts like Facebook, Twitter, G+, Pinterest,
reddit and the many. They will be asked to provide an access over their
sensitive financial info on debit card and credit cards too.
However, as a user you will be allowed to choose which bit of
information you are willing to share with the datacoup. To reap the
benefit of full $8/month, you have to allow the maximum amount of
information
